Changing in opening time of check-in counter and closing time of check-in counter/boarding gate.

Following Circular 36/2014/TT-BGTVT dated 29 August 2014 regulating the quality of passenger services at airports, Vietnam Airlines would like to inform passengers about changes in opening time of check-in counter and closing time of check-in counter/boarding gate.( detail in underlined content as shown below)

Check-in counter Open time

• International flights: counters are opened 3 hours before Scheduled Time Departure (STD).(former regulations: 2 hours 30 minutes before STD)
• Domestic flights: counters are opened 2 hours before STD

Check-in counter Close time

• International flights: counters are closed 50 minutes before STD. (former regulations: 40 minutes before STD)
• Domestic flights: counters are closed 40 minutes before STD. (former regulations 30 minutes before STD)

Note: At Charles de Gaulle; London Gatwick; Frankfurt International Airport, counters are closed 1 hour before STD

*STD: Scheduled Time of Departure.

If you do not check in by the check-in deadline you will not be able to travel on the flight. Depending on your fare conditions, a failure to check-in on time may also result in: 

• making your ticket invalid for travel or becoming non-refund in case there are restrictions on changes. You will need to make a new booking and purchase a new ticket.
• paying change fee, and/or fares difference for the new applicable fare.

Due to potential traffic delays, check-in time and security screening,  you are recommended to be at the airport at least 60 minutes before departure of domestic flights and 120 minutes before departure of international flights.

You should carry your traditional paper ticket or eTicket Receipt at all times  for both international and domestic flights

Note: Deluxe Economy Passengers’ ground service standards will be the same as those of Economy Passengers (except checked baddage allowance on flight to/from Europe/Middle East/Africa/Australia/New Zealand ).

Vietnam Airlines pleasurely offers to operate standby passengers in case seats on flight are available  when they present at the check-in counter as following priority order:

• Platinum/ SkyTeam Elite Plus
• Gold/ SkyTeam Elite 
• Business Passengers
• Others

The handing of stand by passengers bases on the method “first comes, first serve” in each priority level.

Boarding gate close time: 15inutes before STD (from 01/12/2014)
